You play tribes on a laptop!!!?
So... You were maing me in Tribes Ascend with a laptop!!?....
It's a poker 3 with reds. Best keyboard ever. Only annoying thing is when games bind useful functions to the Function keys by default.
This makes me miss my Arch setup so much.
i cave, here is my stuff
That monitor looks sweet! I'm really tempted to get the Acer 1440p, 144Hz, 27 inch Gsync - but it's nearly $1000 here in Australia. Just don't know if it's within the realms of my budget.
Also, realistically, how long will a monitor last me before I have to replace it?
EDIT: The monitor.
It's an ok product. If I had to do it again I'd have spent an extra $200 on the Samsung though.
As long as the warranty being offered. Anything over that is a bonus.
But that's a pleb binary distro. I expect better of you.
I miss white monitors... They're all drab black or grey or even worse 'gaming colours'. Nothing screams minimal like plain white.
Im getting a new comp just so I can play mid-air without the hardships of using a shitty laptop. Any suggestions for a good Desktop for a decent price? Anything 700 and under would be nice.
Check out pcpartpicker.com. They have some guides for building based on budget, and you can make builds with lists of components.
Edit: Here's a video they have of a $700 build:
Great little machine, I use this as my second pc. It will play just about anything you throw at it.
Thanks man, and what kind of monitor are all of of you using?
I'm rocking two of the 24's, but I'm sure the smaller sizes are just as good.

Finally recovered from my MSI 890FX GD70 dying, and pretty impressed by the Asrock so far. Not used to this fancy BIOS with its mouse enabled interface. I swapped out the H80i for my old Xigmatek CPU cooler. While the H80i can fit in the 350D case, I'd have to sacrifice my top exhaust fans, as placing the H80i on the rear sacrificed my USB3 connection. Plus, it's rather loud, especially compared to my previous Xigmatek. And the temps are more or less equal. Really wish I took a pic of the interior of the case, even though it's a mATX, cable management was smooth and sexy. Current fan setup are two 140mm in the front for intake, and two 120mm up top for exhaust. All are connected to a cheap Phanteks pwm controller I picked up (forgot that my previous case had built in connectors for extra fans, so had to purchase this controller). Really quiet. I had complained about the wife's imac being noticeable quieter than my old Colossus case, but the 350d is very silent. I can hear a slight whine when one of the fans kicks up. Not sure which one (the fans were a mish mash of brands from previous builds), but plan on replacing all the fans for Noctuas at some point.
Anyhow, enough talk, here's some pics!
